Newsflash FLA: updated deadline for the registration of training courses
In our newsflash of April, we informed you that the deadline for registering training courses in the Federal Learning Account (hereafter ‘FLA’) had been extended to 1 September 2025. A new law has been published that postpones this deadline to 1 January 2026.
As a reminder: before this latest postponement, every employer had to register all training courses, followed by employees since 1 January 2024 in the FLA by 1 September2025 at the latest.
Postponement of the FLA and employers' obligations
Registration in the FLA is thus postponed until 1 January 2026. Until that date, employers have the option to :
- Continue registering courses followed as of 1 January 2024 in the FLA;
or
- Record these training courses in an individual training account. This is a paper or electronic form in which the employee's training credit is recorded.

Towards a replacement of the FLA?
The federal government has announced its intention to replace the FLA with ‘a less administrative system’. For now, we do not yet know what this tool will look like. We are following this closely and will keep you informed.
Please note: the possible replacement of the FLA will not have any impact on the individual right to training and will not release the employers concerned from their obligation to draw up an annual training plan.
